Attendance

At Waterside Academy, we believe that good attendance is essential to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. Regular attendance not only supports academic success but also helps children build friendships, confidence, and resilience.

Our Expectations

  • All children should attend school every day unless they are too ill or have exceptional circumstances.
  • The school day starts promptly, and arriving on time ensures children do not miss valuable learning.
  • If your child is absent, you must inform the school by 9:30am on the first day and keep us updated daily.

Reporting Absence

  • Please email admin@waterside.agoralp.co.uk or call 01707 321203 if your child is unwell.
  • If your child has a medical appointment, please try to schedule it outside school hours. If this is not possible, please notify us in advance.

Term-Time Absence

  • Holidays during term time are not permitted unless there are exceptional circumstances. Any unauthorised absences may result in a penalty notice.

Celebrating Good Attendance

We recognise and reward children with excellent attendance through:
97% Attendance Club (Termly)
100% Attendance Certificates (Termly)
Weekly Class Attendance Trophy

Working Together

We understand that sometimes challenges affect attendance. If you need support, please contact our Attendance Champion, Mrs G Powell, or Headteacher, Mr K Peart, to discuss any concerns.

Thank you for your support in ensuring that your child makes the most of their time at Waterside Academy!
