Safeguarding
At Waterside Academy, the safety and well-being of our children is our top priority. We expect all staff and volunteers to share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting their welfare.
In certain instances, we may need to collaborate and share information with external agencies when concerns arise regarding a child's welfare. However, we will always prioritise discussing our concerns with the child's parents or carers, unless we have reasonable grounds to believe that doing so would put the child at risk.
We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda, which aims to counter radicalisation and extremism. To ensure our staff is well-equipped to address safeguarding concerns, they receive annual training on Child Protection and Safeguarding, and are familiar with the appropriate procedures for reporting concerns within our school.
